OFF-LEASH DOG PARKS

Spartanburg Area

RAIL TAIL DOG PARK   Union Street  (across from main entrance to Duncan Park)

Opened in 2012, the city's first dog park represents a partnership between the City and local non-profit Partners for Active Living. The dog park is conveniently located adjacent to the Mary Black Rail Trail. With its location roughly in the middle of the Rail Trail, organizers hope the dog park will bring added attention to the area and the adjacent multi-use path, which is often crowded with walkers and cyclists. The dog park is fenced in and has a pint-sized water fountain for the canines. Amenities include bench swings and picnic tables.

DO...

  • Enjoy the park between sunrise and sunset
  • Dispose of waste in on-site containers.

  • Closely supervise your children at all times in the park.
  • Remove your dog's leash once you enter the park

DON'T...

  • Leave your dog unattended in the park.
  • Bring dogs in heat
  • Bring more than two dogs per handler.
  • Bring dogs with communicable diseases.

CANINE CORNER AT CLEVELAND PARK  126 Woodland Way (across from Cleveland Park Animal Hospital)

One of Greenville's most Fido-friendly attractions. This half-acre fenced-in park provides ample space for your dog to run off-leash with his furry friends. The park is well-maintained, has a mulch surface for the dogs to run around on, and is located along the Swamp Rabbit Trail which meanders through downtown Greenville. Although there are water fountains at the park, they are not always working, so you should bring along some water for your pooch if coming to the park, especially on a hot day.

PELHAM MILL PARK    2770 E. Phillips Road  (at bridge over Enoree River on Hwy. 14)

This park is not well marked.  It is locatede adjacent to the water treatment plant off Highway 14 (Exit 55 off I-85 -- head towards Pelham.  Located approximately .9 mile from I-85)

This 13 Acre park has plenty of room for your dog to run.  There are some shade trees but overall, most of the park is exposed to full sun. Amenities:  Water, benches, some shade, pick-up bags, large/small dog areas. Plenty of parking. Plenty of grass, sand area, & a hurdle for dogs to play.
